Welcome Message from your Far West PELS General Chair

Welcome to Far West PELS 2027

Congratulations on becoming your club's President-Elect!

Over the next year, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting difference—not only in your Rotary club, but also in the lives of the people your club serves. Few positions in Rotary offer the same opportunity to inspire others, strengthen friendships, launch meaningful projects, and leave a legacy that continues long after your year as president has ended.

Far West PELS is where that journey begins.

This weekend is much more than a training seminar. It is an opportunity to grow as a leader, to challenge yourself, and to discover what is possible when passionate Rotarians come together with a common purpose. Throughout the weekend, you will hear from exceptional keynote speakers, participate in engaging leadership sessions, and gain practical ideas that you can immediately bring back to your club.

Just as important are the conversations that happen between the sessions. You will meet hundreds of fellow Presidents-Elect who are beginning the same journey you are. The friendships and professional connections you build here often last well beyond your presidential year. You will also have the unique opportunity to meet and interact with experienced Rotary leaders from across the Far West, including district leaders, past Rotary leaders, and our special guest, Rotary International President-Elect Larry Lunsford.

Whether your club is large or small, urban or rural, every President-Elect shares the same goal: to make their club stronger and their community better. By the time you leave PELS, you will return home with new ideas, renewed enthusiasm, greater confidence, and a network of friends and mentors ready to support you throughout your year.

I encourage you to participate fully. Ask questions. Share your experiences. Meet someone new at every opportunity. Attend every session with an open mind. The more you invest in this weekend, the more you—and your club—will benefit.

Thank you for accepting the challenge of Rotary leadership. I look forward to welcoming you to Far West PELS 2027 and beginning this exciting journey together.
