Christine Smith

Originally from Southern California, Christine Smith now calls the foothills of the Sierra Nevada home, living just a few miles from the south entrance to Yosemite National Park.

A dedicated member of the Rotary Club of Oakhurst since 2011, Christine has embraced Rotary’s commitment to Service Above Self through leadership at both the club and district levels. She served as Club President in 2019–2020 and spent three years as a District 5220 Assistant Governor. She continues to serve on the District Advisory Council and has chaired the District 5220 Conference in both 2024 and 2025. One of her greatest Rotary passions is serving as a counselor at RYLA, where she enjoys inspiring and mentoring the next generation of leaders.

Professionally, Christine has built a successful career spanning more than 30 years in construction and interior design. She serves as Chief Financial Officer of Custom Design Construction & Interiors Inc., a company she has helped grow alongside her husband and business partner, Larry. In 2011, she expanded her professional pursuits by founding Designs by Christine, where she works as a Certified Interior Designer, helping clients create beautiful, functional spaces that reflect their lifestyles.

Christine and Larry have been business partners for more than three decades and have been married since 2012. Their partnership extends beyond work and home—they joined Rotary together on the very same day and continue to share a passion for service and community involvement. Together they have three children, including a son and daughter-in-law who are also proud Rotarians, and six grandchildren who bring them endless joy.

Throughout her life, Christine has been deeply committed to serving her community, planning and leading successful fundraising events and charitable initiatives for numerous nonprofit organizations. She and Larry proudly support The Rotary Foundation as Major Donors, members of the Paul Harris Society, and members of the PolioPlus Society, reflecting their enduring commitment to Rotary’s mission of creating lasting change both locally and around the world.
